The Melville Dewey Show

The Melville Dewey Show

Library Advocacy for Kids

After pursuing a Masters in Library Science, the storyYELLER is back! Crafted with humor, manic rhythm and oodles of wackiness, the storyYELLER is sure to knock your socks off.  His style has been labeled as pioneering, hysterical and action-packed. The storyYELLER doesn't spin yarns. Never did learn how to sew.  Instead, he slangs stories, songs and poems in a playful, unique, hip and hilarious fashion.

During his studies, the storyYELLER learned about a librarian named Melville Dewey.  Turns out Dewey was not only a legendary librarian, he was a hip hop recording artist too!  This storyYELLING program teaches children about the many resources available in libraries, introduces them to the Dewey Decimal System and emphasizes the need for libraries in our communities.  Complete with book turntables, a rapping book drop and Melville Dewey library card souvenirs, this program is sure to bring down the house!  Some of the entertaining and educational songs and stories included in this program are:
