Summer Reading Program - Available June and July dates

I am finalizing the 2011 Summer Calendar and still have the following dates available:

June 3,6,9,10,20,21,25,28

July 5,16,18,19,25,26

August 9-13

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone who's already booked a performance, especially the younger elementary and pre-school aged children!

The Tampa Taiko Japanese Music and Cultural Outreach Program is booking shows for the 2011 Collaborative Summer Library Program: One World, Many Stories.

 

I have performed at festivals, schools, summer camps, libraries and on-stage at performing arts centers throughout the southeast.  I'd be delighted to visit your location to provide a fun-filled hands-on, interactive program about Japanese culture through playing taiko drums and other Japanese instruments such as the shakuhachi and tetsu-zutsu.

Shows are 40 minutes - 90 minutes, and I am available to book the above dates and throughout 2011.

Bits N Pieces presents "The Three Wishes"

In the Sea of Japan, a fisherman catches a magic fish. In return for letting the fish go free, he is granted three magic wishes. The fisherman and his wife think they will always be happy once their wishes come true, but sometimes what we wish for is not what we need. When greed gets in the way, "Once upon a time" might not lead to "happy ever after!"

In addition to traditional Japanese Mask Puppets, the performance features a second "Boat" stage that sails out into the audience. This popular fairytale has been retold and adapted by cultures around the world. After the show, the audience members make an Origami fish puppet to take home.
