About me

Geddy the Gecko: multicultural dances from around the world shows and reading shows (including summer reading shows such as "Make a Splash" 2010 themed shows) at libraries. Geddy has performed at nearly every library in Broward and Palm Beach Counties and is ready to perform at all other libraries in all Florida counties. Performing nationwide since 1995 in 43 states, John Mallory, the man inside the gecko costume, also performs farm themed and western themed reading shows as Holy Cow, Mr. Pig and Bully (or as just Mr. Pig and Bully). John has performed 4 times on primetime national TV for Simon Cowell with Regis Philbin and has been in "People" magazine twice. Rates for library shows vary from county to county as John tries to meet the average price that each individual library is used to paying for live events. Upon request, John starts the show OUT of costume so that children ages 1-3 can see his real face prior to the show. 954 924-0218

We’d like to perform at your events for your summer reading program and any other events you may have. We have performed in 43 states and at nearly every library in Broward and Palm Beach counties. All shows feature comedy and multicultural dances from around the world. Upon request, each show takes on the element of storytelling as well. See below for info on our story used in our storytelling shows. We live in southern Broward County.

Below: the story that we use in our live show at libraries of Geddy the Gecko, the lizard that learned how to walk on water, he learned to make a splash and believe in himself and he came out on top, on top of the water that is!

Geddy the Gecko, Walking on Water by John Mallory

Mr. and Mrs. Lizard lived in a rainforest near the shore in western Costa Rica. The rainforest was a wonderful place to live. The trees, plants, and mosses were brilliant shades of green. Each day began with radiant sunshine. In the afternoons, rain showers fell on the treetops and water trickled down the trunks and vines to the ground far below.

    Live Performances for LIBRARIES

All shows for ANY AGES: 2 to 15 (preschool through 8th grade) as each character can perform with:

A.) a zany, high-energy personality for K-6th grade, or for families, NOT like “Barney” www.geddythegecko.com/schoolsandparks

OR: B.) a soft, warm personality for ages 2-6 for preschoolers (more like “Barney”). Upon request, John can show preschoolers his real face & the costume parts prior to the show & then no one is startled when the show begins.

All shows feature tons of audience participation, with hilarious skits, songs, dances, and sound teaching.

Choose length: 30 or 45 minutes. Most Library shows are 45 minutes indoors or 30 minutes outdoors
